God Pours Out His Favor on the Thankful Heart

Recently I had a vision of the Lord in which His arms were lifted high and I could see that they were loaded up with bundles—bundles of blessings just waiting to be poured out upon those who were full of faith and have a heart of thanksgiving. We are currently in a season where we must continually remind ourselves of His faithfulness, not because of the coming holiday, but because of the battle that is being waged for righteousness.
Paige Norfleet

I am not a particularly nostalgic person and I do not yearn for the happiness of a former time, but God has been drawing me, even before I rise, to revisit various moments in my life when He moved on my behalf, and it is building a thankfulness in me that was unexpected.

My father is a great story teller. I have many fond memories of listening to him recount his own childhood and his own personal battles and victories through the years. When my children were still very young, "Paw" began sharing those same stories with them, and they listened with wide eyes that were full of anticipation. It is my hope that my children will share those same stories with their children and grandchildren, for there is great value in this.

Deuteronomy 4:9-11
Only take heed to yourself, and diligently keep yourself, lest you forget the things your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. And teach them to your children and your grandchildren, especially concerning the day you stood before the LORD your God in Horeb, when the LORD said to me, "Gather the people to Me, and I will let them hear My words, that they may learn to fear Me all the days they live on the earth, and that they may teach their children."

If we do not recount the many ways that God has delivered us, it will be lost to the next generation. The knowledge and understanding that we have gained as we have watched God deliver us must be passed on in order for the next generation to build upon that knowledge and in order to deeply secure their faith.

God's Desire is to Bless!

What I saw in the vision were armloads of blessings waiting to be distributed, and I sensed that the Father was searching for those who are thankful and who are expecting Him to move mightily on their behalf!

"For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him." This Scripture is taken from 2 Chronicles 16 where Judah was once again facing the prospect of war. Asa, king of Judah, chooses to enter into an unholy alliance based on fear and doubt rather than being reminded of how God had delivered them in the past. Hanani the seer admonishes them that God searches the earth for those that are full of faith in order to bless them, but because of their foolishness they will now be bound to a season of wars.

Joshua 4:15-24
Then the LORD spoke to Joshua, saying, "Command the priests who bear the ark of the Testimony to come up from the Jordan." Joshua therefore commanded the priests, saying, "Come up from the Jordan." And it came to pass, when the priests who bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD had come from the midst of the Jordan, and the soles of the priests' feet touched the dry land, that the waters of the Jordan returned to their place and overflowed all its banks as before.

Now the people came up from the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and they camped in Gilgal on the east border of Jericho. And those twelve stones which they took out of the Jordan, Joshua set up in Gilgal. Then he spoke to the children of Israel, saying: "When your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, 'What are these stones?' then you shall let your children know, saying, 'Israel crossed over this Jordan on dry land'; for the LORD your God dried up the waters of the Jordan before you until you had crossed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red Sea, which He dried up before us until we had crossed over, that all the peoples of the earth may know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty, that you may fear the LORD your God forever."

We must never forget that God's love for mankind was so great that He went as far as to sacrifice His Son. Why is it that we believe that today, in the hour of our need, that His mercy is no longer available and His love for us is any less? Our God is the same God who delivered His people from the bondage of the Egyptians, and in the process parted the Red Sea before them and crossed them over into the promised land. He is the same God who sent His only Son, whom He loved, to save us from the bondage of sin, and He is the same God who is ready to move on our behalf today!

Meditate on What You've Learned!

Most of us have moments in our lives that are precious to us because God moved in our behalf. If we don't have them personally, we know someone else who has; and because He promises that He is no respecter of persons, what He has done for one He will do for another. Those miraculous moments have such a powerful impact on us at the moment that we think we could never forget how faithful God is.

But in fact, as time passes and the demands of life invade, those details fade and become less profound. As pressures increase and we hear the constant reminders of the increase in wickedness all around us, our faith is shaken and hope can become deferred. However, as we begin to revisit the victories of the past, the details begin to return and our hearts begin to experience again the delight of that event that we once held so dear. Not only does it stir our emotions, but it can awaken thankfulness and faith to a heart that was once being bombarded with discouragement!

Philippians 4:8-9
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

The first information that we receive is often what is taken in by our natural senses (such as our eyes and ears). As we assess the challenges before us we begin to calculate how tall and wide this mountain is and just what it will take to conquer it. The mountains that we are currently facing cannot be conquered in terms of human strength or wisdom; in fact, I am repeatedly hearing, "It's going to take an act of God," which is usually followed by a solemn sigh that holds little hope or expectation that anything at all can be done. If our spirits are not anchored in the promises of God we will make unholy alliances with the enemy and agree with him concerning our strategy and what the outcome of our circumstances will be. God tells us to meditate on His goodness because it works!

God is prompting me to go back and be reminded of all that He has done in the past in my life and to be aware of the ways that He is moving in the lives of those around me. Discouragement is giving way to hope as I revisit what God has done! As I verbally recount and testify of His working power in my life I can feel strength and faith begin to arise. Suddenly the situation does not seem so impossible and I feel like an overcomer.

Revelation 12:11-12
And they overcame him by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time."

Once the fog of hope deferred is removed and we are reminded of the promises that God has spoken to us we can begin to declare them in faith. After all, God is not a man that He should lie. Our hearts of thanksgiving and praise will prepare a way for the favor of our God to be released and those armloads of blessings will begin to be poured out upon us!

Look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near!

Ring Of Fire And Quake Prayer Watch Update

Ring Of Fire
Various Authors

Seismic activity continues steadily all about the Ring of Fire, Please continue to be in prayer over all the affected nations. The dangers include volcanoes, earthquakes and tsunami’s.
There is currently intense earthquake activity all around the Pacific Rim.

Magnitude 7.0 Earthquake Strikes Indonesia
Saturday, October 24, 2009
JAKARTA, Indonesia A powerful earthquake struck deep under the sea in eastern Indonesia on Saturday, causing panic and sending residents running out of their homes, officials and witnesses said. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
The quake had a preliminary magnitude of 7.0, but at a depth of 86 miles was too far below the earth's surface to cause a tsunami, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said.
Saturday's quake came as Indonesia is still recovering from a devastating earthquake last month that killed more than 1,000 people on western Sumatra.
The U.S. Geological Survey says Saturday's quake — the second strong temblor in two days — was located 225 miles southeast of Ambon in the Maluku islands in the Banda Sea.
The shaking was strong and people ran to higher ground fearing a tsunami, said Ian Kotualubun, an official with Indonesia's Meteorology and Geophysics Agency in Saumlaki, the area closest to the epicenter, about 1,700 miles east of the capital, Jakarta.
Indonesia sits above a series of fault lines that make the vast island nation one of the most earthquake-prone places in the world. A massive quake off the coast of Indonesia's Aceh province caused the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami that killed 230,000 people, half of the victims on Sumatra island.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - An 8.1 magnitude earthquake struck off the northwest of Santo, Vanuatu, the U.S. Geological Survey said on Wednesday.
The epicenter of the quake was located 232 miles north-northwest of Santo, Vanuatu, at a depth of 20.5 miles, the agency said.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage and no tsunami warning was issued.
Huge Earthquake Hits In Indian Ocean
Aug 10 06:51 PM US/Eastern
WASHINGTON (AP) - U.S. officials on Monday reported that a huge 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck in the Indian Ocean and issued a regional tsunami watch for India, Myanmar, Indonesia, Thailand and Bangladesh that was lifted later.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake was about 160 miles (257 kilometers) north of Port Blair in India's Andaman Islands and about 20.6 miles (33 kilometers) deep.
"The danger for a tsunami is real," William Leith, an earthquake manager at the USGS, said in an interview.
By comparison, however, Leith said that Monday's Indian Ocean quake, though very large, was "many times smaller" than a massive earthquake in December 2004 off Indonesia's western island of Sumatra that triggered a tsunami that killed more than 230,000 people.
The tsunami alert was later lifted.
Also Monday, an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.6 shook Tokyo and surrounding areas.
Quakes that occur that far apart are typically not related, Leith said, but it was too early to say for sure; he said scientists would be studying the two quakes.
The Indian Ocean earthquake was reported to have struck about 225 miles (365 kilometers) south-southwest of Myanmar, 510 miles (825 kilometers) west of Bangkok, and 1,420 miles (2,295 kilometers) southeast of New Delhi.

Hot Or Cold

I found the following quote in an online article titled "The End of Christian America" from Newsweek Magazine

http://www.newsweek.com/id/192583

"Let's be clear: while the percentage of Christians may be shrinking, rumors of the death of Christianity are greatly exaggerated. Being less Christian does not necessarily mean that America is post-Christian. A third of Americans say they are born again; this figure, along with the decline of politically moderate-to liberal mainline Protestants, led the ARIS authors to note that "these trends … suggest a movement towards more conservative beliefs and particularly to a more 'evangelical' outlook among Christians."

This article is based on a survey called "The 2009 American Religious Identification Survey" abbreviated ARIS. This is the same study that showed the Pacific Northwest (where I was born and happen to live) is no longer "the most unchurched region in America", because New England now has a higher percentage of people who are not regular church attenders.

The survey also shows that there has been a 10% decline in self identified Christians since the last survey in 1990.

Now, when you hear of a 10% decline, does that sound bad? alarming? somewhat less than ideal?

What the poll showed was that in 1990 86% of America identified themselves as Christian. Now the number is 76%. Does that change the perspective of whether America is still MASSIVELY Christian? I say not.

And given all the hoopla of Barak Hussein Obama as president, and all the pandering to Muslim countries, what would you guess the poll showed about the number of self identified Muslims in America? If you guessed 0.6%, you would be right.

Notice also that even the negatively cast Newsweek article quotes the ARIS authors as analyzing the trends to mean that the decline in numbers of self identified Christians came from mostly "politically moderate-to-liberal mainline Protestants". Since most of the populace in that category reside in the Northeast, it makes perfect sense to see the shift.

So what I glean from this is that when Jesus said "I wish you were either hot, or cold" (Rev 3:15), He meant what He said. It has always been a bad idea to be lukewarm, but never a worse time than now. On the other hand, people will never repent of what they cannot admit.

I conclude therefore that many lukewarm Christians have decided to no longer hold onto the pretence of being Christians. No doubt some are being overthrown in their faith, and that is bad. But the stage is being set for reality and repentance to come in like never before.

We serve a Mighty God, Whose ear is open to our cry.

And it wouldn't hurt to remember Mark Twain's observation on the topic of statistics, as we hear the media:

“Figures often beguile me, particularly when I have the arranging of them myself; in which case the remark attributed to Disraeli would often apply with justice and force: ‘There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies and statistics.’”
- Mark Twain's Own Autobiography: The Chapters from the North American Review

Stay sharp. Stay focused. And realize that the most powerful spiritual weapon we have is prayer in Jesus name.

Fire for effect!

The Last Move of God Was the Wilderness

On September 8, 2009, I had a night vision in which I was taken to an aerial view of various parts of the world. I was shown vast landscapes of lush grasslands that were teeming with new life. I could see exotic plants and trees and I knew in my spirit that what I was seeing was a new move from God that had come upon the earth to bring about a radical revival. Suddenly, a massive wave of destruction came upon the greenery. The whole scene was consumed and only a barren wasteland was left in its place. I watched in shock and felt disappointed and distressed at what I had witnessed. Then the audible voice of God spoke to me in the vision and said, "I released something new from Heaven but My people were not ready for it, so I had to bring a wilderness time to purge things that were not of Me." As I woke from the experience a very strong presence of God was in my bedroom.

Something New Started in 2005

The Holy Spirit spoke to me that God planned the start of something new in 2005, that would bring about a new level of anointing. This new level was intended to awaken a new revival. But because we were not ready for it, He changed it into a wilderness time instead. From 2005 to 2009, many people struggled through a major time of purging, testing and realignment. Wilderness experiences from God are necessary in order to refine and prepare us.

Hosea 2:14-15 NIV
"Therefore I am now going to allure her; I will lead her into the desert and speak tenderly to her. There I will give her back her vineyards, and will make the Valley of Achor a door of hope..."

God released many promises to the Church in 2005. Some promises have been delayed and are now being released. Our ministry was located in Los Angeles around that time. We were gathering the resources and people to start a training and outreach center near Hollywood. We had been given a sizable grant to support the work, but in 2005 it was as though every door closed for us. We eventually gave the grant back and moved to Moravian Falls, North Carolina. We were literally placed in the wilderness (we lived in the woods of North Carolina) and we experienced a very difficult time for three years, including a very limited amount of influence and favor. Then in 2009, we were suddenly sent back to the West Coast to start a training center—this time in Santa Maria, California.

We are now in a time of realignment and restarting. Many prophetic words and promises got sidetracked or delayed, and some are now void because of the sudden switch in the spirit. If you have gone through difficult and unclear times over the past few years, this may very well be the reason why. Had God allowed the new movement to come in the condition we were in, it may have destroyed us.

A Time of Awakening

Throughout the month of September, I kept hearing a line from a song on the radio, "Wake me up when September ends." This is very much like the call going out from God right now—He will be waking many of His people up in the month of October. This is the time to press in to God and ask Him for more clarity. We will all see some type of answered prayer during this month. You will need to watch for it. Those who are not paying attention may miss this fresh time of God's visitation. God is visiting our situations, our families, jobs, relationships, and ministries, and a trumpet blast is going out to call people to awaken! We will see some strange events in the months to come and a massive amount of sudden changes and turnarounds. If we stay centered on God, we will not be shaken.

Check for yourself—think back and look at the year 2005 and see if anything unusual happened. Were you going one direction when things switched and seemed to dry up? As I have asked people this question, I am hearing story after story of how God had either made a promise that didn't seem to work out, or some even saw a new move of God start that suddenly got cut off.

This is what I believe God is saying, "Just as suddenly as things changed and were cut off in 2005, I am now renewing and reviving situations—suddenly! I am parting the Red Sea once again and making the impossible possible. Watch Me, and give Me glory as your life and ministry are restored and renewed in this very hour."

Prayer: "God, awaken us to what You are doing in our lives right now. Give us eyes to see and ears that can hear what You are doing. Amen."
